Teeth?
At the rate this boy is losing teeth he's going to be on a diet of jello and ice cream soon! Wait, maybe that's his whole plan...

His eyes are still smiling. He is "rejoicing regardless of circumstances". GOD is with Simon. That must be why he finds the good in everything, even loosing teeth.
