Lotion

Tim's parents invited us over for dinner on Saturday evening. We ate and had a nice time and nothing eventful happened during dinner, which is a good thing.

The boys played with some old kitchen stuff for a while. Eli brought us trays with various plates, bowls, cups, etc. and told us what each thing was. He did a really good job of knowing what everyone would want to eat-he had a bowl of green bean casserole for Tim and that's one of Tim's favorites, that kind of thing. Noah was the bus boy, or somthing of that nature, it was so fun!

Then, later, I got the boys in their pajamas and about that time Tim and his dad are scheming on what they can occupy the boys with so the four of us can play cards. They got out the Little People "Village" and the "McDonald's" sets which are always big hits with the boys.

Amazingly enough, they played nicely for the whole time we played a game of "Up and Down" (it probably has some other official name, but I don't know it). Simon was in and out of the dining room where we were playing at the table, but he played really well too. One of the things he was playing with was the little bottle of baby lotion from his diaper bag.

When our game was about over, I told the boys to start picking up the toys. About that time Eli brings me the little bottle of baby lotion and asks if he can put some on. That seemed fine to me so I opened it for him and he globbed a whole handful out onto his palm. I took the bottle and used it to suck back in some of the lotion. Eli was highly impressed that I could make the bottle suck the lotion back up inside. I never know what will impress those kids!

About that time, I remind them that they need to be picking up the toys since we are going to be leaving soon. As Eli is walking back to the living room, he is rubbing his lotion around on his hands and says, "Now I don't have to pick up toys since I have lotion on my hands!"

We all started laughing at Eli's little scheme to not have to pick up toys. But he was wrong, he still had to help.
