A little before six o'clock they started telling us to head to the start-which was about two miles from where we were. We got in our assigned corrals-me in the last one since I didn't know how long it would take me. I was with one of my aunts so I had someone to wait with, which was nice since I was a little nervous. It was still dark when the race started, which was odd, but fine since it started getting light pretty much right away.
They had mile markers with the time at each mile and water stops and porta-potties at almost every mile, which was good too. They also had characters all along the race route that you could have your picture taken with, and DJs pumping music every so often too. Then about mile 8 they gave us a snack, which was helpful.
We started in the Epcot parking lot and ran up the road five miles to the Magic Kingdom, around the park and through the castle-which was fun! Then back to Epcot, around the "golf ball" as Eli says and back to the parking lot to the finish line. Here I am crossing-you can't really see me, but I'm there, crossing!
Here I am after I got my medal, a bottle of water, and a banana. Here's me with my medal. And me with my three aunts and cousin. The official race shirt, my bib, and my very first 1/2 Marathon medal.
Maybe there'll be more, who knows? I am doing a 5k in April, so we'll see how much I keep running.

congrats!! I knew you could do it and in record time , that last mile is always the fastest with the crowd cheering you on. lol I am so envious you stuck thru your training in the cold and snow. Believe it or not a lady at the gym I go to in Ft. Benning went to that race too and it was her first 1/2 marathon too. small world!
Yay! How great! I'm glad you did so well!
