Well, the time has almost come for my very first half marathon. I'm really excited to complete it and to have a weekend with Tim without our offspring. We've never taken a whole weekend away since we've had children, so we're very excited!
About the race: We will all wear chips for the race so they can accurately time us and track us. When you run over a mat the chip sends a signal for time recording purposes. Since they have that they offered to send a text or e-mail when you pass over the mats-apparently they have them throughout the course so they can see if people are keeping up the proper pace.
I got an e-mail asking if I wanted those automatic updates and because I'm so savvy, I set up the blog so it will automatically post those updates while I'm still running. I'm not really savvy so let's hope it works. The test they sent did work, so I think it will.
That way, if you're interested you can track my progress during the race on Sunday. The half starts at 7 am (remember the time change) and my goal is to be completed in three hours or less-I know, I aim for the stars! You have to be completed in three hours and 30 minutes, but hey, if I complete it, I will be accomplishing something big!
