Have you seen Fireproof yet? You should. Have you at least heard of it? If not, here's the quick recap:
It's a Christian movie, but it's not a low-budget movie, it's a real movie, if you know what I mean. It's about a couple that is losing their way in their marriage and how they decide if it's worth it to save it and what they do to save it. It deals with some serious issues couples can face and the realities of what those issues can do to a marital relationship.
Our church showed it one Saturday night, not long ago. They provided childcare, popcorn, and pop and showed the movie on the wall projectors. It was all free so it was an easy date night for us. I'm so glad we went.
One of our Sunday School classes was doing the optional follow up Bible study (it was only six weeks) so I signed us up for that too. It has been great too. Even Tim, who normally isn't into that kind of stuff was pretty into it. He and I are committed to making our marriage the best it can be. It's no easy task, but worth every minute of effort.
The movie (and study) has made me think about what I can do to make sure Tim and I don't end up in the place the couple in the movie was. I don't want to ever be there. I want to be where we are, and better.
If you have the opportunity to see the movie, I highly recommend it. But I recommend anything that makes you take a look at your marriage to keep it strong, so maybe I'm biased. Shouldn't we all be?

I didn't see the movie, but read the book and loved it. I, too, love doing things with dan to enrich our marriage and make sure we stay the course!
We have seen it and are very glad we did. We were just talking yesterday again about making our marriage a priority so we don't end up years down the road like roommates who raised children together. That movie reminds us that we have to make time to make our marriage successful.
Wouldn't that be horrible-the kids move out and you don't remember why you love your spouse? I don't want that to be us!
I've heard of it thru the TLC show the Duggers. I have to say that as much as I want to see it, I dont think I will. I'm the type of person who would obsess about trying to fix it now even if its not us. Comes with the illness I guess.lol so I think I'll just keep cameron where I think his best roll was ( Left Behind series)
