Sleep

Tim and I are very different people. He is a work-a-holic, can't-sit-still kind of a person. Me, not so much. I enjoy sleeping in (a little-say 8:00 or 8:30 on a weekend if I can do it), reading a good book, watching TV, lazing around, that kind of thing.

I like a good eight hours of sleep-not that I get it, but that's what would be good for my body. Tim, as he ages requires more sleep than he used to, but certainly less than me. After he graduated high school he could get up at 5:00 after about five hours of sleep and get his work done for the day so he could goof off the rest of the day. While that's admirable, I'm certain that's not what I did after my senior year!

Anyhoo, have I mentioned that we have a Mini-Tim?

We do. We put him to bed and he doesn't sleep. He gets up, keeps the other boys awake, plays, you name it, he does it. He's not bad other than keeping the other boys awake.

Remember our bedtime policy? Well, we had to use that last night. The boys were explicity told if they were talking or out of bed they would have to help me outside. And after laying in their beds for a while they got loud. So they helped me with the work I was finishing and got back to bed around 10:30.

Since Simon was the instigator in all the noise, he was revoked of his priviledge of sleeping in his own bed. He had to sleep in the extra bedroom by himself. That door latches, and his bedroom door doesn't, plus his bedroom is connected to Eli & Noah's room by a bathroom so he runs through there and bothers them. So when he keeps getting out of bed we make him sleep in the spare room.

This morning at 7:10 I was walking down the hall and out of the spare room walks Simon with his Grinch and his pillow. Fresh as a daisy and ready for the day.

I don't know how he does it. I guess he's just like his Daddy and doesn't require much sleep. I think we have to take away nap time because I can't handle him being up until 10 or 10:30 every night. I won't get anything done!

While he's as cute as cute can be, he's going to wear me down!

He looks more and more like Tim every time I see him! They're definitely cut from the same cloth.
