Spoke too soon!

Guess I spoke too soon. I thought we were out of the woods with Simon's stitches healing, but about the time I posted that last week we started to get concerned. It's hard to notice; he's short so it's hard to see and he hadn't complained about it.

There were two little white pimples last week, earlyin the week. I thought maybe with all of his sweating we weren't cleaning it often enough and he got some pimples. They were possibly in spots where there were stitches so that worried us a little, but it didn't seem to be anything but the pimples. Then late last week and over the weekend it started to get red and continued to get more red as time went on.

Tim took him to urgent care on Sunday afternoon after church. They squeezed some puss out and did some kind of culture on it. Nothing bad I guess. Now he's on an antibiotic for 10 days to get that infection out. I don't understand how the infection got in; it appears to be healed over. However, I don't have a lot of experience with stitches so I don't know!

Hopefully we'll be good from here on out though.

That's a raw deal! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick out those germs and he'll heal up quickly!

Well after just having covered all that stuff fresh in my mind, I can take a good guess at how it got infected. If it was opened and drained earlier of puss and they closed it up its possible that not all the infection was cleaned out the first time. Ive seen that alot in the hospitals. Hope that insight helps.

Culture came back-it's a staph infection. They said to finish the anti-biotics and it should be okay.
