This weekend we all trekked to the college of some of our high school friends for a 5k race. They were both running, as was I, and Tim was on childcare duty. He's a good sport, my Tim.
I hadn't run at all in over a week and really hadn't trained much since doing the half in March so I was a little worried about how I would do-no one ever wants to make a fool of themselves!
However, I did really well for me, I beat my 5k time from October by almost exactly three minutes, so I was very pleased with that. I ended up at 33:41. That's the best I've ever done. Our friend also won first place in his age bracket, so that was fun. He was super excited about it.
I think if I could/would actually train at least three times a week I could do a lot better but it just doesn't happen. I'd like to run once a week in the evenings and then do a Sunday run with one of the boys on their bikes on the bike path through the summer. I think that's do-able, but we'll see, it's my goal anyway. Gotta shoot for something, right?

What a great goal! Also, I am sure the boys will enjoy the one on one Mommy time they have doing it.
Make it happen!
Thanks for the encouragement!
You should enter the tri-athalon with your boys, the older ones in west-milton, I bet that would be a fun time, its canoeing, biking and run, just putting out an idea to you. grats on the run time
That is great that you did so well!
If you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every time. So having a goal is half the battle. You can do that and you'll feel so great about it when you do! You go, girl!!
